Ribbon mathematics — relationship map 0.3
Working reading reference, not a new mathematical carrier or proof of executability. Chapter and line references belong to the Volume I TXT edition identified in the map. Chapter XVIII on Band Mathematics is now included in the website edition of Volume I. Line references still refer to the TXT edition identified in the map, not to website paragraph numbers.
Ribbon Mathematics — Relationship Map 0.3
Working draft · 14 October 2026. Purpose: to read jointly operative relationships together during implementation and keep shifts in meaning recognizable. The basis is the current Volume I and Relationship Map 0.4. This map is a reading reference; its bundles are editorial, not a new mathematical carrier.
Author’s correction from this conversation: Notations indicate how the relational configuration is to be read. What plus does mathematically and what plus notation expresses within the relational configuration must be kept distinct in their connection. No implementation follows from an isolated operator designation.
Reading rule
1. Name the task, source version, role of the sign, and depth of reference.
2. Choose a suitable reading path. Read its bundles in full and include their immediate “Read together” neighbors once. Do not automatically expand further from newly included neighbors. BAND01 remains the foundational binding.
3. When changing perspective, state explicitly: which relation remains operative, which reading changes, and what determines the transition?
4. Distinguish textual evidence T, connection from the general map G, editorial connection R, and open derivation O. A matching output does not close an open derivation
Three kinds of order: The basic determinations operate simultaneously and recursively. Methodological priority orders their justification. The sequence of a concrete enactment can nevertheless carry meaning. These three statements must not collapse into one another. [General map: “Three kinds of order,” B01, B03.]
Core map
BAND01 · Difference, counter-reading, and self-reference
Together: |, A|B, Δ := |(|), direction, counter-direction, orientation.
The poles are determined within the relation. Counter-reading A|B ↔ B|A preserves the difference, changes its direction of reading, and leaves the order operative. Distinguishing its own direction makes a “direction to the direction,” and thus orthogonal readability, possible. Δ is operative self-reference of the same difference.
Read together: BAND02, BAND04, BAND07. T: XVIII, opening, ambivalence, Interchangeability, inner direction. G: B01, IV01; connection to orthogonality B13.
BAND02 · Task, notation, perspective, and resolution
Together: determinate task, role of notation, perspective, necessary relational depth, concrete enactment.
The task determines perspective and operative resolution. The concrete reading must be justified from the relation. A predefined target remains part of the task relation and does not replace this enactment (cf. XVII, division). The basic enactment is not generated by the task. A concrete unfolding does not acquire its view only retrospectively. In the text, the order of determination is: task → perspective → relational determination → Δ → trace → projection → readout. The arrows designate the direction of authority, not a temporal production of Δ by the task.
Possible depth and currently operative depth remain distinct. A sufficiently determined position may remain contracted. The task rule is not stored in the ribbon as a hidden instruction.
Read together: BAND03, BAND05, BAND08. T: XVIII, perspective, task, resolution, rule and generator sections. G: B03; local mode and complete profile are different roles.
BAND03 · One ribbon, coupled positions, and virtual depth
Together: ribbon enactment, number shell 0–9, reference perspectives, positional order, virtual depth, ||.
The ribbon is continued relational readability. In the elementary reading described here, 0–9 forms a relationally articulated configuration, not a list of independent number objects. Large numbers do not require a correspondingly long materialized list of ones. Multiple digits couple reference perspectives on the same ribbon; they do not enlarge the elementary number shell. In 947, the hundreds, tens, and units perspectives read elementary nine-, four-, and seven-positions. No individual digit carries its place value by itself.
2|5|0 reads the ordered positional relation; 2||5||0 makes its self-reference readable through virtual depth. The double bar is neither a place separator nor a second basic operator; it cannot simply be equated with Δ := |(|). The digit-sum question reads the same already related positions together under a different perspective: public readout 7, without asserting 250 = 7 or retrospectively reconstructing digits from a discarded carrier.
Read together: BAND02, BAND04, BAND05, BAND06. T: XVIII, ribbon, double bar, reference perspectives, positions, depth scale, digit sum. G: B10, I03.
BAND04 · Number-positions as jointly readable stabilizations
Together: reciprocal reference, orientation, orthogonality, self-mirroring, recombination, internal and overall reading.
One, two, three, and four read first stabilization, reciprocal reference, orientation, and orthogonal stabilization. They do not form a temporal sequence of production. Four can be read in beat-based, arithmetical, and geometrical terms; these roles remain distinct. Five is a turning point within the expanding perspective under consideration. From six to eight, central and counter-read positions alternate; a locally asymmetrical reading can belong to an overall form that admits counter-reading.
The concrete patterns appear in the number-position table. They are perspective-bound readings of the text, not universal rewriting or lookup rules. Nor is any additionally invented operator meaning assigned here to 00 in these patterns.
Read together: BAND01, BAND02, BAND03, BAND05, BAND07. T: XVIII, one to four, first positions, five, beyond five, recombination. G: I02; earlier number figures in VI–VII retain their respective readings.
BAND05 · The same trace, different projections
Together: continuing enactment, Σ, ribbon, stroke, circle, geometry, beat, depth reading, operator effect, public readout.
Σ keeps the enactment relationally present. Stroke reads difference, circle reads closed relational form, ribbon reads beat, and number reads stabilized position. None of these readings generates another. Beat reads an already relationally determined position linearly; counting implements this readout only at its boundary.
After the public reading, the internal relation remains readable at Σ. Retrospectively reconstructing 5|4 or 3||3 from the finished 9 does not replace this preservation. Ribbon, geometry, beat, and depth reading read the same determinate trace without using the result of another projection as input. Their agreement is thus a cross-check. The readings remain jointly relationally bound; visible equality of value alone does not prove identity of traces.
Read together: BAND02, BAND03, BAND04, BAND06, BAND08, BAND09. T: XVIII, circle/stroke/ribbon, preserved relation, beat, complementary readings, cross-check. G: B02, B11, B08–B09.
BAND06 · Self-mirroring, reference coupling, and NSWO
Together: 0|0, observer position, task perspective, coupled reference readings, drift, complete fourfold context, threefold reading, x.
0|0 designates self-mirroring and can be read as an observer position within the relation. Under a determinate reference coupling, this position can become operative as drift of the integrated reading. Concrete geometrical visibility depends on this coupling. Task and NSWO figure do not arbitrarily place an x on a direction.
The complete fourfold relation remains operative. Three jointly readable positions can appear as a triangle; x designates the connection that is not readable under this perspective. A change of perspective changes readability without moving a stored hole in the ground. The observer position is a reading of the self-mirroring position permitted by the text. The roles that must explicitly be kept distinct are 0|0, drift, perspective, and x.
Read together: BAND01, BAND02, BAND03, BAND05, BAND07. T: XVIII, self-mirroring, NSWO, and reference coupling. G: B04–B06, V01–V03 only as connections; this does not establish x = h(o) = D = δ.
BAND07 · Recombination, closure, and renewed relating
Together: different perspectives on the same relation, preserved reciprocal references, joint readability, later closure, recursive depth.
Perspectives with different x-positions can together make connections visible that did not appear individually. Recombination relates readings that are already relational. Later closure makes the earlier, more comprehensive connection readable; it does not insert a previously missing object.
A stabilized position remains open to renewed relational reading. Fractality therefore requires neither endless expansion in writing nor a separate generation rule for each number. Back-reference as self-reference, co-determination of an earlier edge, continuing return, and back-readability are different roles.
Read together: BAND01, BAND04, BAND05, BAND06, BAND09. T: XVIII, depth, recombination, later closure, no additional rule. G: B10, B12; different back-references in B07–B09 and IV01.
BAND08 · Keep operator reading and mathematical effect distinct
Together: complete task relation, notation, internal position, shared trace, determinate reading of effect, beat, result reading.
3+4 and 3×4 determine different questions on the same relational ground. Interchangeability preserves this ground under a changed reading; it does not permit arbitrary exchange of signs or results. The text does not posit separate kinds of Δ for each operator.
In the plus section, 3|4, 3+4, and public readout 7 have different roles in the same enactment. For 3×3, 3||3, nine beat-positions, and readout 9 are to remain readings of the same Σ. Neither a hidden ordinary product nor adding a three three times may replace the trace there. This is the chapter’s explicit requirement in the overall context, not an architectural rule derived from the plus sign alone.
Read together: BAND01, BAND02, BAND03, BAND05, BAND09. T: XVIII, operator sections and executable consequence; VIII–IX for roles of notation. O: The text explicitly describes the minus reading 4−3 through self-mirroring as requiring further examination. For division, XVIII provides no comparably developed individual derivation.
BAND09 · Connection to executable enactment and verification
Together according to general map B09: grounded and preset profile P, Δ, executable ordered path, Σ, grounded projections, bindability, profile-compliant lock, normal form, relevant trace class, back-readability, stringency.
G: If stringency in the sense of general map B09 is claimed, these conditions must hold jointly. A numerical value, a geometrical closure, or a single passed comparison does not replace the bundle. P remains invariant during an execution; rule-compliant feedback within P is distinct from this. A profile change opens a new execution. Local mode and overall profile are not identical.
R/O: How a ribbon task is concretely translated into these conditions must be stated. Chapter XVIII does not already explicitly use the complete lock/NF apparatus. No finished implementation therefore follows from the cross-connection. Back-readability requires a determinate relevant trace class; it is not a license to regenerate the relation from a standalone public number.
Read together: BAND02, BAND05, BAND07, BAND08. G: B03, B08–B09; PF05, PF08. O: Without concrete code, these requirements have not been verified here as fulfilled.
What remains shared during a change
R: The following comparison specifies the scope of the textual relationships. “The same ground,” “the same already related positions,” and “the same determinate trace” are not interchangeable statements.
| Change of reading | Preserved binding | What must be stated separately |
|---|---|---|
3+4 and 3×4 | Difference and self-reference as a shared basic enactment (XVIII, operator reading) | The questions differ. The shared ground alone does not establish identity of their concrete traces or results. |
| Ribbon, geometry, beat, and depth reading of a determinate relation | the same Σ (XVIII, complementary readings) | The projection roles remain distinct; each reads the shared trace. |
| Positional reading 250 and digit-sum reading 7 | the same already related positions under a different task perspective (XVIII, digit sum) | Distinguish positional relation and joint beat reading; the preserved relation does not justify 250 = 7. |
| Different NSWO perspectives | complete fourfold context (XVIII, x and recombination) | The concrete threefold readings and x-positions differ. |
G/R: If a change is described as a concrete execution under profile P, it must additionally be clarified whether it lies within the preset rule or opens a new execution under P′. Task, perspective, and profile must not be identified without justification (general map B03/B09). The map thus prescribes no particular data structure.
Reading paths for changes
BAND01 always remains the foundational binding. The bundles named in each case must be loaded together in full. The selection is an editorial working aid, not a new mathematical sequence.
| Subject of the change | Read together |
|---|---|
| Notation or operator effect | BAND02, BAND03, BAND05, BAND08; if executability is claimed, BAND09 |
| Ribbon, multiple digits, double bar, digit sum | BAND02, BAND03, BAND04, BAND05 |
| Number-position or number figure | BAND02, BAND03, BAND04, BAND05, BAND07 |
| Beat or public readout | BAND02, BAND03, BAND04, BAND05, BAND08 |
| NSWO, x, drift, or observer position | BAND02, BAND03, BAND05, BAND06, BAND07 |
| Recombination or closure | BAND04, BAND05, BAND06, BAND07; if a lock is claimed, BAND09 |
Check question before changing code: Where is the task relation determined, and which of its readings must remain preserved at the same Σ? Then name the preserved relation, changed perspective, sources, and open transitions. Check arithmetically matching results and relational preservation separately.
Number-positions from Chapter XVIII
This table preserves textual relationships under the perspectives named in each case. It defines no arithmetical evaluation of the printed signs.
| Position or public reading | Position and role to be read together |
|---|---|
| Self-mirroring | 0|0: initial reference of the difference. No public numerical readout 0 is derived from it here. |
| 1 | 1|0 ↔ 0|1: first stabilization with counter-readability. |
| 2 | 1|1: an already differentiated relation encounters its own differentiation; unfolding 0|1|1|0, counter-reading 1|0|0|1. |
| 3 | 1|1|1: threefold position; the relation of distinguished directions becomes readable as orientation. |
| 4 | 1|1|1|1: stabilized orthogonal readability; beat-based, arithmetical, and geometrical reading remain distinct. |
| 5 | 0|1|1|1|1|0, changed perspective 1|1|0|0|1|1, internal reading 2|00|2; overall position 5, turning point of the expanding perspective. |
| 6 | 2|00|3 ↔ 3|00|2: asymmetrical concrete position with counter-reading within the same relation. |
| 7 | 3|00|3: symmetrical internal reading; linear beat reading of the same trace can show seven beat-positions. |
| 8 | 3|00|4 ↔ 4|00|3: renewed counter-position. |
| 9 | Nine beat-positions, internal reading 5|4 ↔ 4|5, depth reading 3||3, public readout 9: different readings of the same continuing relation. |
Limit: Merely summing printed signs does not justify the public readout. The determinate plus reading of already related sides has its own role, described in BAND08. An internal form reconstructed from the finished number does not replace preservation of Σ. The table alone is not an executable derivation.
Roles that must not be merged
| Sign or back-reference | Local distinction |
|---|---|
Δ, ||, Δᵢ | Self-reference of the difference, written depth reading, and level index are different roles. An additional index is not an additional basic order. |
| x | In the opening of XVIII: determinate readability in Δₓ. In NSWO: a connection not readable under the perspective. Do not derive a general mathematical type “unknown” from this. |
| 0 | Treat the self-mirroring role in 0|0, elementary number reading, and further local zero roles according to their context. |
| Drift, x, h\(o\), δ | Connections are bound to sources and perspectives; map 0.4 marks the general translation as open \(Q02\). |
| Self-reference | Δ relates difference to already relational efficacy. |
| Co-determination through closure | A later reading co-determines the earlier connection (XVIII; B12). |
| Return with trace | Visible return can preserve continuing enactment (general map B07); not automatically a lock or fixed point. |
| Back-readability | A relevant trace class remains preserved under a specified reading (general map B08); not identical with the preceding three roles. |
Source status, limits, and review result
I: “01 Tractatus Principio I – Über den Unterschied – Band I – Buch der Mathematik.txt,” uploaded in this conversation; V–IX, XII, XVI–XVII as foundations and back-connections, XVIII as the immediate ribbon reading. G: “tractatus-beziehungskarte-v04.md,” source-bound working reading, not an authority above the primary text. IV, V, and overview B are mediated here only through G.
Under I-18, G still lists the 1729 chapter; in the current I, this is XIX. Ribbon mathematics is the new XVIII. Chapter and section references therefore take precedence over old line references. The following lines refer exclusively to the current uploaded TXT version, including blank lines.
Local textual question: XVIII, line 4875 writes * ≠ ×, although the preceding comparison is 3+4 and 3×4. This map preserves the unambiguously stated difference between the task perspectives; it invents no additional star-operator semantics.
Relation to XVII: Partial-product and carry notation alone proves neither a contradiction with XVIII nor a complete relational execution. The concrete transitions must be justified together with VIII–IX, XVI–XVIII, and G/I03. No claim of already resolved executability is made here.
Review result 0.3: Explicitly distinguished shared ground, preserved positional relation, and shared concrete trace; reaffirmed the observer reading of 0|0 against an overly strict separation of roles; distinguished addition of signs from determinate plus reading; took the given target into account; bound stringency conditions to the claim actually made for them. The reading paths, numerical relationships, and 45 section assignments present since 0.2 remain preserved.
Review limit: Section coverage checks thematic assignment and back-references, not a mathematical proof or a working calculator. A concrete execution remains to be determined and checked separately.
Section coverage of XVIII
Each section is assigned to one or more bundles to be read together in full. This is a navigation aid; the assignment does not replace the respective passage in the text.
